EXPEDITION TEAM SET OFF AT START OF EXPEDITION

Most of the Moon Regan Expedition team headed for Buenos Aires on the last weekend in October 2010. The three Expedition vehicles – the Winston Wong Bio-Inspired Ice Vehicle and the Science Support Vehicles – and all the Expedition kit, left the UK some weeks ago by sea. The team will meet up with the vehicles and kit and then start the 3000 kilometre drive down Argentina, and into Chile.

Punta Arenas is the departure point for Antarctica. The team will fly onto the ice on around 14 November, though all dates are inevitably subject to weather conditions. Then, provisionally on 18 November, they will set off from Union Glacier to cross the continent via the Geographic South Pole.
